Direct Integration with Duo Security for MFA

Problem

FusionAuth supports many MFA methods, but doesn’t currently support a native Duo integration, which makes it difficult for organizations using Duo to apply advanced MFA methods like push notification MFA. For some teams, Duo is already in use and approved by infosec, so not being able to reuse it slows down adoption and complicates migration.

Solution

Add first-class support for Duo Security as an MFA provider in FusionAuth, allowing admins to configure Duo and users to authenticate via Duo Push, voice, or other Duo factors.

Alternatives/workarounds

Workarounds include using webhooks or other tools to handle Duo MFA externally before or after redirecting to FusionAuth, but these add complexity and break a seamless login flow.
