Starcraft: Alt+F4ing freezes the game

Starcraft: Brood War 1.17 Windows 10 Pro

Starcraft normally intercepts alt+F4 and pops up the E[x]it Program menu while ingame, or just closes the .exe if you're in the main menu. With cnc-ddraw, pressing alt+F4 causes the game to freeze up. If you left click the game window ~5 seconds later it'll crash. Tried it with both Borderless and Fullscreen, same result.
