Enhancement: Savable Replays

  • [X] I have properly named the enhancement
  • [X] I have checked the issues/discussions pages to see if the enhancement has been previously suggested

What is your suggestion, and why should it be implemented?

Not everyone has OBS, and when you do, leaving that shit running in the backgroud for 2 years is annoying when you want to record yourself, plus maybe you do something really cool while playing casually and you didn't even think to record! A simple fix to this is allowing players to save a gameplay replay after finishing a song, and maybe you could also save the last like 5-ish games they played.

Kade Engine has a way to do this, although it isn't really accurate. I heard from a Funkin' blog that in the future when there are leaderboards, it does some cool stuff to get your score and send it off, so they can probably find some way to display that math in the game and re-run a match or something like that, but this is a really cool idea!

Most likely be a thing as not many people know this but you can take in game screenshots by pressing F3

Yea I know and that's great and all, but it's not nearly as useful for showcases and FC proof's as the full playthrough is.

Hmm, this would be as ""simple"" as saving all the player's hits into a song data type thing, where all the player actions basically become invisible notes that a (replay) bot would follow and perfectly hit. I'd imagine that whomever decides to take up this enhancement will have a fun time of making this happen (fun, in both it's difficult, and fun to see the result of your work).

Oooo, maybe the data of the player's input could instead be passed as what the bot hits instead of the actual song notes (but also making those bot hits transfer to the song notes).

~~Dang it, now I'm actually considering trying to do this. I really want to see the end result now. I can't do this tomorrow or anytime soon, though, I've already got two PRs I've yet to completely finish.~~ This has already been taken up, so I can't (it's better that I didn't anyway).

As long as there's some way to export it to a video file, I would love to see absolutely anyone take a crack at it.
