IMHO dired-hacks is one if not the best dired extension package. Many thanks and congratulations for this awesome work :)

I've used ranger.el (which is also very good) but to me dired-hacks extensions are just better for my workflow. There is just one feature that dired-hacks could have to make it just perfect is the integration of a split window (choice of either vertical or horizontal) preview of documents (org-mode, pdf, doc, ...) or subdirectories.

Something in the spirit of ranger.el or peep-dired preview but with refined taste of a dired-hacks extension :)

The still unfinished package dired-images kind of has that and I was playing with the idea to make it work for other file types as well (I would then rename it to dired-preview or something).

Unfortunatelly this is not part of my workflow and so it is not very high on my list.

I understand, It was just an item in my user "wish list" to make dired-hacks just perfect :) But it's great if you already think of this kind of feature. Many thanks and long life to dired-hacks !
