Bunny Hop - a little jump to an adjacent hexagon: something rather small and fluffy hitting the ground. Big Pliers - teeth snapping in something. Blowing Wind - breathing in and then powerfully blow it away, part which could be loopable. Freezing Spit - charging up saliva and releasing it violently.

Cool, so I've got some early sounds but I just have a question about timing. For example the 1st, 3rd, and 4th sounds each have two components i.e. (1.jump->land)(3.breath in->blow)(4.charge->release). How much time between each actions would you prefer? Or would you rather me just give you the separate components so you could time them to your liking? Here's an example of the freezing spit ability with different timing.

Yeah, I'm aware of the 2 components and I was wondering about that stuff myself. Well, since there are no proper unit animations for now, using 2 files is kinda pointless as we don't really need any synchronization.

Regarding Freezing Spit, great job! The short version will do nicely, so we should keep all of them like that.

Ok cool, sounds good

Since you did the hit sfx, I recalled my earlier thoughts regarding Freezing Spit, we need it more like this:

  1. charging up saliva (you already nicely done this one)
  2. spitting / sneezing, something like phuuu (you kinda merged this one into point 3)
  3. the impact breaking sound itself (which you did as well)

1 and 2 can be in same file, while 3rd one is separate file, as the projectile will travel different distances.

Here's the two split sounds Freezing_Spit(Edit).zip

@dudicus14 Excellent work, I think that's perfect :+1:

To mimic this sort of action-reaction style for ranged abilities, I think Blowing Wind could use a separate looping file that would mimic an unit being pushed/dragged around, might be reused for more abilities.

Here's a breath in,release, and loop sound

And here's the bunny hop Bunny_Hop.zip

@dudicus14 Alright, these will need a bit more work, feedback time!

Bunny Hop: It's good you did the sound for the actual jump. We'll use both actions as one file. The fall needs to be a little more like he's falling on the ground, so it needs to sound less wooden and less hollow. I think it should be a little more soft as well, as he's not jumping far and nor from a higher surface.

Blowing Wind: The breath sounds a bit reversed, like it's breathing out instead of in. The loop needs to not have the wind in the background or other atmospheric sounds, it's mostly feet dragged over solid ground. The file size is rather huge for the loop, the release is also kinda big, we want to keep the whole thing rather optimized / fast / lightweight (it's one of the project features / goals). The release is somewhat long in length, perhaps 25-50% shorter.

Here's a couple more ideas for some of them. Didnt have much time to work today. Also I'm busy all day tomorrow but I'll be able to really put some work into these tomorrow night. Reversed the breath but it may still sound like it's breathing out unless it's put in context with the blowing wind. Either way I can put more time into these and get the others to you tomorrow night if that' ok. Bunny.zip

The landing sounds good. The breathing in is better, but sounds rather mechanic. Understood, thanks for letting me know :)

DreadKnight avatar Sep 01 '16 00:09 DreadKnight

Ok here's another attempt. Let me know if the bite is too cartoony. Also there are two breaths, one with ice and one without. Lastly let me know if the release loop is too windy. There's a mix of dragging something across the floor and a skiing sound. Bunny Sounds.zip

The pliers might work, even though kinda cartoony, as the creature itself is in that style. For the loop, I might search around a free website soon. The others could be a little more "breathing in" like, but might use them like this for now until something better comes along. Don't forget to send me a single file for the Bunny Hop (jump up and down).

Here's the hop. And two breathing attempts. Sorry man I'm just having a hard time understanding what you want for the loop. Bunny.zip

Those breaths are way better. For the loop want something like a brick being dragged on concrete, but less stony / harsh. Some people did similar sounds by dragging on the ground that heavy lid from the toilet tank.
