Can't install extension on Brave using Linux

Maybe I am just doing something wrong here but when I click the 'Load unpacked' button and try to install the browser extension it will not let me select .zip files to load. I can navigate to the file but the .zip file is greyed out and will not let me select it.

The instructions are wrong/old: You have to clone the repo/extract the donwloaded zip and select the folder

Ok thanks, I got it installed now. When I click a YouTube link it does open up in FreeTube but I get a Javascript error message. However you can click out of the message the video will still play. I am pretty sure Preston is already aware that the Chrome extension has issues because there was no mention of it working in the latest release notes.
