Describe the bug
Certain videos will fail to load and continuously log errors in the console.
Expected Behavior
I have only seen this for two specific videos thus far, linked below... [Instrumental] They Played Us Like A Damn Fiddle (F1NG3RS MGSV Remix) - https://youtu.be/YensEzC_J_4 Tie This Around Your Neck - https://youtu.be/ztfjq3cuA9o
All you need to do is play one of these videos in FreeTube. The video will show up, but it will infinitely buffer and stay at the 0:00 mark, playing nothing. No errors are displayed by FreeTube itself, but errors are being logged in the console itself.

Additional Information
Console error sample:
The console continuously outputs these messages. Beyond "1002" errors, it will also consistently put out "3016", "7000", and "1003" errors.
I hope this helps.
Nightly Build
- [ ] I have encountered this bug in the latest nightly build.
Im unable to reproduce the behavior on these videos. Is this still happening to you?

Yes, it is.
Please answer the following questions:
- Are you using a Proxy or VPN?
- Does these videos work for you when you play them on YouTube within your web browser? You should test this while being logged out!

No proxies, VPN is disabled (no videos would play at all in FreeTube if my VPN was up).
The videos will work on YouTube proper without me being signed in.
Hmm very weird behavior. Please post a screenrecording following the steps below
- Launch application
- Open console tab in dev tools, ctrl + shift + i
- Reproduce the issue
- Scroll through your settings for good measure
Here is another video with similar issue: https://youtu.be/qgoAlVkUjtI
I also find the same problem reported by OP in videos in his description.
By following the instructions I have found this on the console:
Also, an error reporting that "YT blocked your IP... Try a different VPN or Proxy..." pops up, but I have no VPNs nor proxies enabled, neither does my ISP.
One odd thing is, to me it happens more often with videos longer than 1h. Shorter videos usually play ok. I have noticed this error since last Sunday.
Hope this helps.

@ttofano your errors are unrelated to this issue. There isnt anything we can do about those. YouTube has temporarily blocked your IP
@DoomKrakken while i cant reproduce this error by replicating your settings i do have a hunch on what could be causing this. Could you please turn off the following settings as the Invidious instances arent working at the moment because they have disabled API access which can be seen at https://api.invidious.io
- Settings -> Player -> Proxy videos through Invidious
- Settings -> General -> Fallback to Non-Preferred Backend on Failure

Oh. Ok. Thanks, sorry for the interruption lol

I doubt that'd do anything (as it's not even falling back to the Invidious API), but for sure I'll give it a try...
... aaaaaaaand the problem still occurs, as expected. 😔
Hmm this could be SABR related. Could you try this experimental build https://github.com/PikachuEXE/FreeTube/actions/runs/19450588003 and see if your situation changes. Make sure SABR is enabled in the Experimental settings

Just did it (wow, the UI looks even cooler now). Still experiencing the same issues regardless of the SABR setting, on both videos (tried 'em both with it enabled and disabled).
Oh great, it's now happening with this video: https://youtu.be/21IWVM-yQC8
@DoomKrakken All of your examples are music videos, so maybe it is related to that? Please try a standard video e.g. the classic Me At The Zoo one: https://youtu.be/jNQXAC9IVRw

The video you sent works. However, I honestly don't see how this is relevant as MOST videos work on FreeTube, including MOST of the videos in my music playlist. I'm only pointing out videos that don't work, because there's more than likely a bigger issue on the horizon, especially considering that these videos previously played in FreeTube. I would think a better correlation to explore is the fact that these are years' old videos in question more than the fact that they're there for music only.
All the videos I found that don't work were encountered by mere luck. The only reason I was able to find this many videos thus far was because I have a whole playlist of music through which I cycle to accompany gameplay/study.
If I were to come up with a playlist of 100+ non-music videos, I'm certain at least one of 'em will come up infinitely loading (maybe I oughtta hit the If The Emperor Had A Text-To-Speech Device playlist again).

An preview of how FreeTube will look like in v0.24.0

If that were the case we would have had 100s of reports already. These music videos arent working because of a reason. We just got to find out what that reason is.
You mentioned before that you arent using a VPN or proxy but we didnt exclude your location yet.
What country are you connecting from? Maybe adding a state you're in because different states have different regulations when it comes to yt.

I'm from the USA.
What states specifically have those different regulations when it comes to YT?
Age verification laws can be one thing i can think of. If you dont want to disclose it here i can send you my details so your location stays private

Go ahead, though I'm pretty sure there are no age verification laws imposed on Google in my area.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO one of the videos was playing normally (but isn't any longer)...
Not sure if something got fixed yet, not sure if this is some fluke, but I'll keep an eye out.
EDIT: I just tested the other problematic videos... "Tie This Around Your Neck" also worked, but the third one (posted after the other two in this thread) failed to load. Then the other ones failed to load again. It seemed it was able to work for a bit, but was otherwise a fluke. :(
@DoomKrakken apologies for not clarifying. You can send the state you are in to this mailbox so we can zoom in onto this issue further. Our testing parameters should be similar to yours to reproduce this error

I just sent an email. 👍
Thank you! i have successfully reproduced your issue and will discuss internally how to resolve this

... oh wow, so it is a regional issue?
We cant say for certain yet but something weird is definitely going on here
