This is not a security issue: I allowed vocabsieve to be run, but it crashes after the start

Confirmed on macOS 12.3.1/M1 Apple Silicon, the application crashes on launch.

This kind of issue happens every now and then. Unfortunately, I do not have a mac to be able to test the app on a regular basis. If you are familiar with Python, you can try to run it from the command line to see what's happening under the hood. (Instructions under the "Development" heading on README). Also, you might want to join the Telegram or Matrix chat listed on README. It would be great if you can work out a solution of some sort.

Using the pip install . process it raises and exception when attempting to install PyQt5.x and PyQt5 is known to be incompatible on Apple Silicon (ARM) architecture.

I can't seem to open any of the release dmgs for Mac either. I only tried the past couple minors, but the result is the same: Screenshot 2023-03-15 at 23 53 04

@zzzbra It isn't damaged, just MacOS is trying to complain about the missing signature, which requires paying Apple for a certificate. https://www.howtogeek.com/803598/app-is-damaged-and-cant-be-opened/

Using the xattr command worked for me to get it opening.

However, the app isn't working as expected. Double click to lookup a word doesn't seem to work. Demo here
