I can confirm there's a real bug and it's on Open TV's side. I will be patching this.

Mpv (the player Open TV uses) supports subtitles, please see their documentation. Automatically downloading subtitles for movies could be a feature, but honestly it's up to the provider to provide...
so I looked into it and the OpenSubtitles API is very limited. I'm willing to work on this, but I need an altnerative for the source of the subtitles
