[Feature Request] File Syncing Between Devices & Cloud (Simple Solution)

I am aware Flym is not mean't for syncing to cloud readers but I do have a tablet and phone and when I add or remove a entry I would like it to sync to my other devices without me having to export and import the data again.

A suggestion I would like to make is to instead of adding a built-in sync feature or adding support to every cloud storage provider, instead have a file that the user can choose where it is saved on their devices and it will contain the entries and all the data for the app. This way people can easily use apps such as Syncthing and sync the folder of where this file is stored to their other devices.

The one thing I would like though for security and privacy is for this file to be encrypted. Maybe you can consider using 7z or some other file compression with good encryption. By using encryption no other app would be able to read the file and it will be more secure when being transmitted between devices. This will require a password to be set on the file and Flym will need to store this password in the app to access the file so it can read/write the file.

This request will allow users to sync their Flym data between devices and they can easily choose how to without needing to add APIs for every cloud storage service.

Depending on the size of the created file you could even just email it to yourself. But I like this method: sync via Nextcloud Single Sign On since I haven't used Syncthing in a long time.

All this will be is the ability to automatically backup the feed into a file somewhere on your device such as /Flym/Feed/ folder and then you can use Syncthing to sync this folder to another device. As long Flym can automatically import/export a feed, there are other apps that can take care of the syncing between devices.

This is surely the future-proof way to solve the sync problem. :+1:

I might also suggest DecSync as a potential solution to this. Would anyone be inerested? Would authors of Flym approve of a pr with such addition?

Can DecSync synchronize read/unread state and favorites list? If so, I would be OK with a DecSync integration. Otherwise, I wonder if the simple OPML export/import is not enough
