PC Crash

My PC crashes with no BSOD when in the middle of compressing Metro Exodus.

Suggestive of a hardware fault or driver bug. Probably nothing specific to Compactor beyond it just being a workload that happens to trigger it.

Check Event Viewer, particularly Windows Logs → System. There may be informative error logging there depending on the nature of the problem.

I'd also recommend running memtest86 to check for possible memory issues.
