Rename Pages and moving cues - suggestions

Open claypipe opened this issue 7 years ago • 6 comments

I have just started using Linux Show Player. It is software that I have been searching for for ages. Thanks. My first use for it is to organise music for a model aircraft show. The display will be in several sections, reflecting different eras, and I want to organise and play appropriate music for each era. So my first request is that there be the ability to "Name" the different pages, so that instead of "Page 1", "Page 2" etc. The pages would be headed as "WW1", "1920s", "1930s", "WW2" and so on.

For the theatre you might rename the pages as "Act 1", "Act 2" ...

  • [x] When adding cues I am finding that they always go into Page 1 even when I have a different page open.
  • [ ] When moving cues a cut/copy/paste function on a mouse right click menu would be good.
  • [x] When dragging a cue it would be good if you could drop it onto a page tab instead of having to navigate onto the page.
  • [x] Finally it would be convenient if when creating cues the system could remember the directory in use instead of having to navigate from Home every time.

Of course, I am aware that I might have missed something, in which case, sorry. Dave

Glad you find LiSP useful :-)

So my first request is that there be the ability to "Name" the different pages

This is already been implemented, it will be available in the next version (see #89)

When adding cues I am finding that they always go into Page 1 even when I have a different page open.

When dragging a cue it would be good if you could drop it onto a page tab instead of having to navigate onto the page.

Okay, those two should be easy

When moving cues a cut/copy/paste function on a mouse right click menu would be good.

This need some more work, but it can be very useful

Finally it would be convenient if when creating cues the system could remember the directory in use instead of having to navigate from Home every time.

I'll see what I can do with this

How do you create a cue on Page 2? I can't find a way to create one on Page 2 or move a cue from Page 1 to Page 2.

As far as I can tell - as a newcomer to LiSP - you cannot create a cue on any page other than Page 1. But you can then move it to another page.

Hold down the <CTRL> key and left click and hold on the new cue in page one. Drag the cue to the pagetab where you want to put it.

When you are over that page tab the relevant page will open. You can then drag the cue to the desired position on the page. Do not release the mouse button until you have the cue INSIDE the wanted page.

Hope this helps.

Can't move the cues. Clicking and dragging just changes the highlighted yellow cue to whichever one I'm hovering over with the mouse held down. I need to move a stop all cue to 2nd position. Just downloaded LiSP this morning.

@TheEpicTen try to enable "Selection Mode", in the menu bar Layout > Selection mode
