Horizontal scaling for backup Pods

I'm thinking out loud here: We could come up with a pretty (simple) heuristic for the number of Pods we want for backing up a cluster. Assuming we would have Prometheus metrics for our cluster stats we could use the Kubernetes autoscaler with a custom metric the operator or the user would only need to create the according Kubernetes object.
