Keep search string when switching tabs

Feature description

The search string should not be deleted when switching tabs – and the search results immediately updated when switching.

Why do you want this feature?

I often start searching in the history, because that is my default tab. If I don't find the contact there, I switch to the contacts tab and have to start typing the contacts name again. I would love, if the search term stays put and the search list is automatically updated when switching tabs. It is very seldom that the search term changes when switching tabs – and then it is very quick to hit the clear button to start with a new search.
