Feature description

Contact Posters let you assign a full-screen image, graphic, or styled avatar to a contact. When that contact calls you—or when you call them—the poster is shown prominently on the call screen instead of a small circular photo. Posters can include:

Full-screen photo or artwork

Custom colors, typography, or layout (in supported dialers)

Large caller name display with chosen font and style

Dynamic visuals that adapt to light/dark mode

It’s a richer visual replacement for the small caller ID photo, designed to make incoming and outgoing calls more recognizable and personalized.

Why do you want this feature?

want contact posters because they add a visual identity layer to calls:

Distinguish incoming calls at a glance with large, customizable images or avatars.

Provide a modern, aesthetic look aligned with iOS/modern Android dialer design.

Improve usability by making it easier to identify frequent contacts quickly.

Enhance personalization without relying on third-party apps or hacks.

Additional information

User experience: Improves call recognition and aesthetics by giving each contact a unique, full-screen visual identity.

Accessibility: Easier for users with vision limitations to identify callers compared to small icons.

Parity: iOS and some Android OEM dialers already support similar features; users expect this level of polish.

Customization: Allows assigning personal photos, avatars, or styled posters, making the dialer more engaging.

Technical note: Since Android 14+ introduces official support for Contact Posters, implementing this aligns the app with modern Android capabilities and future expectations.

That's not true. Calling cards are an app-level feature.

https://github.com/FossifyOrg/Phone/issues/205 is related but not a duplicate.
