Steps to reproduce the bug

Receive an SMS. The easiest way to reproduce the issue is to send an SMS to yourself.

Expected behavior

The notification should show a "Mark as Read" and a "Reply" button that let's you reply to the message.

Actual behavior

Only a "Mark as Read" button is shown.

I first thought this feature had just not been implemented, but #77 clearly suggest that this should be there, so I'm filing this as a bug and not a feature request.

Sending SMS to yourself is such an unusual usage of the app that I don't think we should support this as a special edge case in notification.

Also, I tested on my phone (OnePlus 8 Pro with stock Android 13) and I have a reply button.

This is not only about sending SMS to yourself, I also do not get a reply button when someone else is sending an SMS to me. Sending an SMS to myself is just the easiest way for me to reproduce this.

Ok, it didn't sound this way from your bug report. Please modify, that it's generally about receiving SMS, and sending to yourself is just an easy way to reproduce for you.

If anybody else also encounters this bug, please write your device model and OS version.

I tested this and could not reproduce the bug. It works fine for me when I send a message to myself. And I have been replying from the notification to messages received from others too.

It happens when you set Lock screen notification visibility to Sender only or Nothing.

Closing in favor of #323 but this could also have happened due to #224
