Feature description
Please add the ability for classifying SMSs into common categories like priority, personal, transactions, advertisements, spam.
Why do you want this feature?
When Google messages had this feature, prior to them removing it, it was a huge efficiency boost by not having to manually move messages from business or promotions, etc. out of my personal messages.
Additional information
Can these sources help with adding this functionality?
- https://github.com/ChiragKalra/Organiso
My thought was either to have it at:
- the bottom, like Organiso (https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/24735099/102793099-6b27e500-43cf-11eb-8a3c-36cb41eb7ee9.png)
- the top, like SMS Organizer (https://www.windowslatest.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/SMS-Organizer.jpg)
- the top like Google Messages, before they killed the functionality (https://9to5google.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/04/google-messages-read-list.jpg?quality=82&strip=all&w=1024)
Maybe there could be a setting to switch between top and bottom. (My preference would be a bottom bar/selector)
Also, the hope would be that the app would try to automatically classify messages, similar to Organiso and SMS Organizer. I was hoping the GitHub links in the first post might help in the implementation.
they killed the functionality
I wonder why.

Not sure why. Google is known for adding, removing, re-adding functionality at random. I found it (and Reddit makes it seem that others did, as well), extremely helpful.
Hmm. I guess they are really into A/B testing stuff, even removing features to see if someone will miss them.
I would like if it could separate/organize contacts from non contacts, since all the messages from contacts gets buried in all the other stuff.
