Feature description

Make "Can't reply to short codes" notice less noticeable.

Why do you want this feature?

The sticky short code notice is annoying to some users.

Additional information

  • It could be made non-sticky.
  • The color could be the same as the background color or slightly darker.

The question is simple: how many hundreds (or thousands) of times do you have to read this spam message to understand that it is the most banal spam, just taking up space on the screen?

I prefer NOT " less noticeable", I prefer "With no notice".

Why repeat the same thing to the user a thousand times if 1-2-3 times is enough?

Just to clarify, are you seeing this dialog every time you open such a thread?

If it's just the notice at the bottom of the screen then I don't see how it's that annoying.

Just my opinion. Personally, I do not find that message particularly annoying, and its size is almost the same as the composition bar. So, the "wasted" space is not that huge. In any case, maybe that message could be replaced by just the symbol "i" (inside a circle, as for "information"), at the bottom center of the screen. And the user can see the whole message only if she/he taps the "i".

Hi @naveensingh,

I didn't want to create another threat about similar case. Do you think that it could be possible to have possibility to copy mobile number from message which carrier's system sends informing that there was a missed call. App doesn't compare mobile number from the message's content with the one stored in a phone book, so I see two options:

  1. Remember the number and enter it to my dial pad then the number can be recognized (if stored)
  2. Copy&paste which is much quicker than the first method To be able to find out who was trying to call me. Currently I can't copy content of such message.

Hi!

The ability to highlight/copy numbers has been requested: https://github.com/FossifyOrg/Messages/issues/15

Copy&paste which is much quicker than the first method

This is already possible but a bit manual, check out this comment: https://github.com/FossifyOrg/Messages/issues/15#issuecomment-1880027625

I just can't understand what personal interest the author of the application has in persistently showing the same warning a thousand (!!!) times in a row? Well, they showed the user this warning 1 or 2 times, but why show it thousands of times, each time taking up space on the screen and wasting the user's attention?

For example, in the Messages application from Miui (Hyper-Os), this unceremonious warning is not shown at all. And only if the user foolishly tries to reply to the message from a short number, only then will the warning be shown.
