Feature description
A shortcut icon to the app drawer would be an alternative to swiping. This would be similar to One UI's "My apps icon button".
Why do you want this feature?
As a personal preference, I do not like swiping. I simply use the 3 button navbar and primarily use swipe to properly close apps. I've used One UI with the apps icon for many years at this point and I had totally forgotten that swipe up would bring up the app drawer. Upon initial install, I had to actually switch back to One UI to learn the expected action.
Having it be a pinned nav bar only item activated in the settings would be sufficient, but I am sure it could be improved.

Yes, this feature would greatly benefit people with limited dexterity or those unfamiliar with swipe gestures, such as some elderly users who also sometimes forget about it due to a lack of visual hints, as mentioned by @Fjara-h. A visible, simple tap based icon that could be added as an app-like icon widget or as a nav bar only item activated in the settings (as suggested by @Fjara-h) would really help those people. Please consider adding this feature. Thank you!
