Feature description

I would like to have the screen show the icons in a grid with four columns but the dock to show five.

Why do you want this feature?

The home screen is less cognitively demanding and still has all the icons and folders. However, the dock can easily have five important icons and still not appear cluttered.

I'm wondering whether to add an option for this. Some launchers make it adaptive, and you just have to drag additional icons to make space for them.

Hmm, that's also an interesting proposition. I guess one would only then need to know that this is a feature, as it would not be obvious. But it is certainly more practical! The option for the home grid is already there, so that part is fine.

Some launchers have a fixed-slots, sliding behaviour, which I'm not a fan of. I like the important icons to be visible always and not need to swipe the dock.

That's a good point. We could have both, initially only as an option, then later make it adaptive for convenience.
