Feature description
AnySoftKeyboard has two keys at the top to move the cursor left and right.
Why do you want this feature?
When I want to insert text at a specific point, it is easier to tap around there and move with the arrows, than to be precise with the finger.
This is an example of Fitt's law - pointing exactly between two letters is slower than tapping the area around the letters and then tapping the area of a button.

We can hold the spacebar and move left and right to move the cursor, but for me that isn't super precise as the sensitivity on it is kinda high. Good for moving between words.
I kinda like Gboard approach, they have a Text Editing section. But that requires you to get out of the main section.
It would be nice if we have a toggle button in the top row that expands to give us the arrow keys.
