Feature description

Just like Simple Gallery's advanced editor, it should be straightforward and show the angle of the photo while you're straightening it.

Why do you want this feature?

When I want to fix a tilted photo, there is no way to do it. The closest way is to rotate the photo, but it is quite different.

I don't want to open a distinct FR for this, so I'd like to add here that I, too, would like a feature to straighten & distort photos. This is a very common use case for me while photographic documents. I currently use Google's "Photos" for this (and subsequently Fossify Gallery to resize the image; which "Photos" can't do).

I would rather if all editing features were removed from Fossify Gallery and built into a distinct Editing App (Fossify Paint)! But regardless, I think a good universal editing feature which can replace ALL of the following:

  • Mirror
  • Rotate
  • Skew/Distort Perspective
  • Rotate

is being able to place 4 arbitrary corner vertices.

I think you are talking about https://github.com/FossifyOrg/Gallery/issues/374

I’d also really appreciate this feature. Some photos I capture end up being slightly tilted—just 1 or 2 degrees off the horizon. It would be very helpful if the rotate tool in the image editor supported precise degree-based rotation, not just 90-degree increments.
