Moving to the recycle bin takes some time. Have you tried waiting a while with the app open to check if it works correctly? We currently have no progress bars (there is already a request for that: https://github.com/FossifyOrg/General-Discussion/issues/120), so there is a possibility that your phone hasn't finished moving files to the recycle bin when you've checked.

That should not be de problem. The phone is pretty fast and it happens with 11 pictures but not with 10

That can be the problem. I've tested it on two phones which are also pretty fast, and I had no problem with 11 and even more photos. That's why I'm asking - does it move correctly to the recycle bin if you wait a bit longer?

I wait until they disappear and the view is refreshed. I go back, I enter again and they reapear.

I have tried again with other pictures and this time it doesn't happen without waiting longer

I can confirm I am also experiencing this issue. Using GrapheneOS too. Its not OS-related as all other gallery apps (aves, gallery, etc) work as expected. The app has all the permissions allowed. Its something with the app itself.

I'm just looking for an Galery app and testing Fossify and run into this problem.

Probably my use-case is a bit odd (have multiple similar photos, wanting to remove dupes just to keep the one I like) and I noticed this too when I delete multiple photos fast they tend to stay displayed.

Another, possibly related issue - in picture view, hitting trash icon multiple times at first goes to the next picture but then, after a couple of seconds, goes back to one of the previous/first photo I opened before deletion (which makes mass-deletion quite difficult)

It seems like some race condition?

As for trash and (slow) moving of files -- maybe simply tag the files as deleted which would remove them from the main view and do the whole moving to trash in background thread so it would result in UI being snappy and consistent?

I've been having a similar issue for a while now as well. I suspect it may be with larger numbers of files, e.g. possibly > 10, though I haven't tested it yet. I also think that, at least some of the time, it may be a delay due to taking time to move to the recycle bin, but I'm not sure that's the whole problem, not to mention that shouldn't be a problem. This is because, even if it takes some time (though it should be near-instant, as the files don't have to be copied/moved, but just have their location pointers adjusted), it should at the very least hide the images while they're being deleted, in order to both avoid confusion and allow continued use of the app while it's working. Also, while my phone isn't top of the line, it's not exactly slow, and there's no reason it should take several seconds, much less longer than that, to delete 10-20 pictures. And multiple times, they've remained showing for quite a while. I also haven't noticed this behavior in any other apps, of which I've tried several. Furthermore, I've noticed that the images will appear both in the recycle bin and the original folder, and I've also, on multiple occasions, made multiple, sometimes several, attempts to delete the same images only to have them continue to show in the original folder. I also had an instance recently where I created a new folder to move images into, moved them, and when I went back to the main screen that shows all the folders, the new folder wasn't showing, and I had to use another app to verify it was there.
