Feature description

Having a button to copy a image to clipboard somewhere in the app would be great.

Why do you want this feature?

I often use it to paste image in sketchy apps like instagram dm. We dont have to give storage permission to another app in such case.

Why not just use the share button? Seems more straightforward.

Honestly, most sharing receivers of DM apps on Android work in such a user-unfriendly way (even Fossify Messages*), that I'd prefer to copy to the clipboard and then paste in the app. I often do it this way if I want to upload something on Slack because its sharing window is a horror if you are in multiple workspaces with numerous channels. And in the sharing popup, I can't copy an image from Gallery to the clipboard.

* ofc Fossify Messages doesn't support pasting images, but that's a different issue.

such a user-unfriendly way

Could you elaborate on that? For me, it's usually a 3-tap process of share ➜ choose app ➜ choose contact.

  1. Lists often consist of all contacts (like in Fossify Messages) without sorting by last used.
  2. Some apps don't even get me to the context of the conversation, what's misleading (e.g. Discord or Slack). I don't feel safe as a user when I don't see exactly where I'm sending. I prefer to be in conversation and then send a message.

BTW. Aves has this feature and I think it's your main FOSS competition 😉
