Feature description

Currently, if opening an image in Gallery from another app, e.g. a file manager, then pressing back, it goes back to the other app, which makes sense. However, the problem is that if the user then decides they want to open Gallery and use it normally, if they do so from the recent apps, it opens to the previously opened image and pressing back just closes Gallery. In this case, when it was switched to vs being opened from another app, it should behave as if it was opened normally from the launcher. As it is, the only way to use it normally at this point is to open it that way, which is annoying and not as fast as simply being able to do so through recents.

Why do you want this feature?

To make it quicker/easier to open and use normally from recents after being opened from another app. The current behavior is frustrating and unexpected, as when opening the app not from another app and pressing back, you would expect it to navigate up a directory, not exit.

The correct behavior, how other apps do, is to not show itself in Recent Apps after going back from a file opened by another app. Current behavior isn't correct, especially that steps you've described can't be exactly reproduced on every OS - I had a case that launcher showed the app in Recent Apps, but didn't allow opening it back.

I guess the question is, should the "correct" behavior be followed, even though, IMO, it's not "preferred/ideal" behavior, or should it be done in a better way, even if that's against the "correct" way. If it's not obvious, I personally feel that if an app is opened, regardless of how, it should show in recent apps. And if it is shown, it should behave normally and not just exit out. Of course, it's up to you how you want it to behave, but that's my personal preference.
