Max reminder duration for timer sometimgs does not work

Steps to reproduce the bug
- Go to settings
- Set Max reminder duration in TIMER TAB to 1 minute
- Start a timer. For a test, I have set a timer to 02:59:00.
- Lock phone and leave it locked
- Wait until timer expires and the timer alarm sound starts
- Don't touch the phone and wait until the timer alarm sound stops automatically
Expected behavior
The timer alarm sound stops after 1 minute
Actual behavior
Sometimes, the timer alarm sound stops after 1 minute, as expected. However, sometimes, the timer alarm sound does not stop automatically. It continues for minutes until the phone is woken up by pressing the power button. When pressing the power button, the alarm sound immediately stops and the lock screen is shown. There is no notification message shown which is related to the timer.

I have noticed this problem since months. Therefore, I don't assume that this is a new issue of one of the latest releases.
I use GrapheneOs with multiple users. I have tested this issue by running this app in an additional user profile, not in the owner profile. I don't know whether this makes any difference. During the test, I have not switched the user profile.
The app has all permissions (Notifications, Sensors).
For this app, the app setting Allow background usage is set to Optimised
