Feature description

[This is sort of a feature, sort of a bug.] When I create a calendar entry, I want to be easily able to set which calendar it belongs to. Coming from org.calyxos.etar, I at first concluded that Fossify Calendar could not choose the calendar. Trying again harder several weeks later to set up for reporting this as a bug, I found it. (For background, I'm trained in computer science and have been using Android for over 10 years, and I get it that UI design is very hard.)

What I'd like to see is:

  • choosing which calendar the new event goes in is very prominent. To me, it's almost list it's part of the title, because I use separate calendars for things I might do, things I've agreed to do, hobby things, and several others.
  • a clear visual indication of the configured calendar, specifically the name with the color. Right now the calendar identity shows, but not the color.
  • By prominent, I think that it's more important than time zone, reminder, repetition, confirmed/public/busy, which are fields that I almost never change. Setting the calendar is something I do on most entries.

Why do you want this feature?

I want the color/clarity/obvious (meaning visible on event creation, even with the keyboard), because which calendar is a critical property, determing when I will ignore the event, and determining if it's one of my private calendars or a shared calendar. I'd put it either above TItle or just below, and include the color.

The way org.calyxos.etar does it is good: It's below "Event name", and it's a drop down with two lines, the calendar name and the caldav account, with a calendar icon with a big colored dot with the calendar color. (calyx etar also puts location/description below time, and has a generally tighter layout resutling in more visisble controls in less space, but that's a separate request I won't type in this minute :-)

Additional information

Thanks for working on Fossify Calendar; I am hoping to be constructive rather than complaining as I genuinely believe many people will be choosing which calendar an event goes in almost every entry.
