Affected app version

1.0.3

Affected Android/Custom ROM version

LineageOs 21 (MicroG version) (Android 14)

Affected device model

Oneplus 7 pro

How did you install the app?

GitHub releases

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. create mulitiple multi-day events that overlap partly
  2. create single day or shorter events in same date range
  3. see empty spaces between events

Expected behavior

space should be used efficiently so that more events can be shown. Example from acalendar: aCalendar

Actual behavior

multi-day events have empty space between them which would not get filled by smaller events. Therefore there are events hidden behind those three dots on day 19 and 24: fossify_Calendar

Screenshots/Screen recordings

No response

Additional information

I'm used to acalendar, which uses space more efficiently: not only by placing small events in between multi-day-events, but also:

  1. uses smaller font size
  2. week numbers on month view take no additional space by beeing placed on monday
  3. has no always on top search bar (which I barely ever use, magnifier icon is enough for me)
  4. has no always shown calendar selector (which I never use)

I find acalendar also more intuitive in following points: 11. visually distinguishes between all-day and shorter events in month view (short ones don't have background) 12. events can be created from month view 13. in day view I can create events with preselected start time by long pressing chronological time lines 14. editing notification time, I can select times and don't have to type some. Changing the select-able ones would be great. 15. vertical, stepless scrolling in month view is really awesome, Etar tried same but it snaps to months and scrolling is bulky 16. event length can be adjusted with +15min, -15min, +1h, and -1h or on full-day-events with +1d and -1d 17. one can set five reminders, not only three. 18. I can set events to repeat every first workday a month. 19. two finger swipe brings me forward one year in month view. 20. deleted contacts birthday won't get removed.

Should I open a new issue for each?
