packaging for different *NIX distributions

There are *nix distributions that would require little effort to maintain packaging 'scripts' in order to package a software for them. This issue tracks and accepts suggestions for other distributions that makes it easier for upstream projects to contribute packages directly.

Please note that this issue does not guarantee that the project will take up maintenance of packages for the various distributions because they were suggested. When we are ready to take up maintenance for a particular project, we will create a dedicated issue for it.
