AWS data api support?

Open mmkal opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

For AWS serverless Aurora accessed via lambda, the recommended way to talk to a db is via the data api.

There's already a client which is very close to the atdatabases API. It'd be very useful to be able to use atdatabases as a layer so we can call code in the same way locally in tests (by using standard db pooling) vs in production from a lambda (via aws data api).

@mmkal Can't you just connect with the adapter that you select for the aurora db? pretty sure there isn't anything special that would need to be done.

I'd be happy to see a PR for an AWS Aurora Data API client as @databases/aws-aurora. It presumably wouldn't have the db.task or db.tx methods, but could have db.query and db.queryStream and db.queryNodeStream
