Yomichan doesn't scan

Yomichan 21.10.31.1 Chrome 96.0.4664.93

The problem is clear in the title, I've tried with different browsers, different versions of Yomichan, different dictionaries, deleting and installing the extension again and again, but I don't understand why it's not working. When I try to scan, the cursor icon is switching to the text pointer icon and switching back to the cursor icon almost a few times in a second, but there's nothing popping up.
