Offline written notes are deleted when starting sync

Open vSchS3 opened this issue 9 years ago • 3 comments

ownNote Version 1.0 (@android) OwnNote 1.05 (@server) ownCloud 7.0.4 (stable)

Expected behaviour: Writing a note offline, for example in space with bad connection, saving it, and synchronize it as soon as a reliable internet-connection is given, should lead to a synchronization of this note to the server

Actual behaviour: Having all offline written notes visible as long as one stays offline they disappear as soon as the synchronization starts.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but I've been having some similarly strange sync behaviour including a note's contents being completely overwritten with the contents of another seemingly unconnected note, which has now happened a couple of times.

How does ownNote handle note conflicts more generally? I haven't seen any documentation that addresses this.

Can this be added to the roadmap please? Not being able to create notes offline seriously limits the utility of the Android application.

I think this is a real show stopper!

Notes can get saved oiffline but then get lost without a warning on the next sync.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Disable Wifi and GPRS
  2. Start ownNotes
  3. Add a note (with or without content)
  4. Close oneNote
  5. Start Wifi/GPRS again and wait until connections are established
  6. Start oneNote => The offline creates notes disappear!
