Is this why CSM is removed from OVMF?
Hello! I would like to know what this OVMF post is actually about? Here: https://patchew.org/EDK2/[email protected]/[email protected]/ And does it impact the development of CSMWrap? I do worry that the code that CSMWrap is using, will be deprecated and obsolete in the future, I hope not!
Our main external dependency, SeaBIOS doesn't have intention to remove CSM module at the moment.
We are not using OVMF CSM functions, we just took a couple of code snippets from OVMF.
BTW there is always someone at work to break something that just worked, for whatever reason.

This is why I even opened this thread in the first place! The fact that there are people willing to abandon CSM so easily, worries me!
And there's me who took months to learn 16 bit x86 assembly, just to see that... well now you can't make any OS anymore using an MBR, since CSM is dying. And UEFI isn't really something that solved issues, since now making an OS is harder than ever, especially if you intend it to be used with features like SecureBoot.
