fluidsynth misinterprets incoming cc messages
FluidSynth version
2.5.1 macOS on M4 Macbook Pro, OS Tahoe 26.1
Describe the bug
routing data from MaxMSP to fluidsynth virtual port, using a fader to generate cc messages (volume) or other cc's (tried 8, panning and 81, reverb, with same result)
if fader is moved a lot, max generates correct messages but at some point (unpredicatably) fluidsynth throws an error: fluidsynth: warning: Failed to set channel 1 to POLY_ON: Operation illegal, because channel is currently no basic channel. (as though cc 127 was sent) ... MIDI port shuts down and fluidsynth needs to be restarted to receive MIDI, however, it can still respond to command line messages (noteon, cc, etc.)
Expected behavior
respond to cc as expected with no interruption
Steps to reproduce
send lots of cc 7 data over the virtual port.
Additional context
No response
Without a MIDI file it's impossible to comprehend what's going on. Pls. find a way to dump the MIDI events sent via the virtual port to fluidsynth and share the MIDI file. Additionally, start fluidsynth in verbose mode (--verbose) and share the full console output as text file, allowing me to compare the events sent via the MIDI port with the events received by fluidsynth.
