Broke it somehow...

I bought a new 2560x1440 monitor without even realising it wouldn't work on my Mac Mini (2010). Max I could get was 1920x1080. I applied the pixel clock patch yesterday and hey presto, it worked like a charm. Then I did something and now it won't find a signal from the display port. I have to link with HDMI and it's back to 1920x1080 again. (This version of Mac Mini seems to allow for better resolution through DP than HDMI) The only thing I can remember doing wrong is I didn't read the small print, where it says you have to keep SIP disabled after patching. I re-enabled it before I realised. Could that be the problem? And is there any way to go back to Square One and start again? Thanks in advance for any tips

You can enable SIP again after patching. What is the maximum refresh rate of your display?

I think that mac can do 4k@30/40Hz so about 340m pixels per second. Rough calculation from the top of my head that's ~90 Hz for 2560x1440 if your display can do more it might negotiate a higher refresh rate with your mac that it can physically deliver.

Like I say it was working beautifully until last night when I did whatever stupid thing I did - obviously it wasn't re-enabling the SIP then but I must have done something stupid. I'd just like to be able to reset the whole thing and start again as if nothing had happened. Is that possible?

Does HDMI still work? You can unpatch with SIP disabled see the instructions

HDMI still works but that allows for only the lower res. The DP cable connection is the one I want but that's just 'no signal' now. (Where do I find the instructions?) PS: thanks for weighing in on this
