I know nothing about this things, so let me ask you a simple question. Will this patch change my MacBook Pro's HDMI 1.4 port into a HDMI 2.0 port?

No it will not. However you can use a mDP -> HMDI2.0 adapter.. it might work without the patch even :)

Thank you for giving a clear answer. I already one of those Club-3D adapters. I was just hoping that the Macbook Pro's HDMI port was "upgradeable" via firmware. :)

@Floris497 Will this patch help me run my 3440x1440 144Hz monitor on the 144Hz refresh rate using the mDP? Currently its running on 75Hz no matter the resolution. I got the same machine! Cheers!
