Not supported by Google TV?
I know this app has not had a lot of love of late. I am guessing the new Chromecast with Google TV does not work with this app any longer? Has TV Input Framework been replaced now?
Is there any public documentation that Google has released about getting content to appear in the Live tab. I don't live in the US, therefore I don't have access to Youtube TV.
I haven't tried out live content. I don't know what documentation exists, if any, about the Live tab.
@nextux what symptom do you see? I have a custom app based on Cumulus TV and it does not work with Live Channels on new Chromecast either. Live TV install and load but when I click Cumulus TV to add channels, I seem my channel names load and scroll , but then it finishes with "No channels loaded" There is a demo Google Play channel in Live Channels that works. I can play these channels in the Cumulus based app.
@emveepee Google appears to be going in a totally different direction now. The "Live" tab in the Google TV interface only works with YouTube TV, which is not available outside the US. Being that @Fleker was involved in the TV Input Framework initially, I posted this issue to see if he knew what might be replacing it. The Google TV interface is apparently the future of what is formerly known as "Android TV", I wanted to understand what would be the eventual successor, so I don't spend anymore time on a currently private project I have been working on that uses the TV Input Framework.
Ok thanks @nextux I guess you aren't talking the "Live Channels" app from the Play Store, so my issue is different. Behind Google TV it is still Android so I figured using v1.28.340749961 of Live Channels would work with Cumulus TV on GoogleTV like it does with generic ATV(10)
@Fleker it sounnds like my problem is this one https://github.com/Fleker/CumulusTV/issues/278 since Google TV also adds one channel which I cannot delete
I have not worked on the Android TV platform in some time, so I couldn't give any sense of things today.
@nextux I was able to get CumulusTV working with Google Chromecast Live Channels and on a generic Android 10 device by adding .setSearchable(true) value on channels.
