Conflict between Metabolic Generator (Cyberware) & Environmental Controller (RFTools)

With a Metabolic Generator installed and in the vicinity of an Environmental Controller from RFTools giving the Saturation III effect, my hunger bar eventually drains and does not properly refill. Attempting to eat, the animation plays but then continues indefinitely without changing the hunger bar. However, if I then do something to cause a status update (teleport to another dimension, relog, etc), my hunger bar is near-full and functioning fine.

Unfortunately, as my power comes from the Metabolic Generator, with the empty hunger bar, my cyberware shuts down leaving me blind and otherwise crippled.
