Sort by author

Request: Patchouli currently allows you to sort by popularity and date. Please allow for an additional mode that sorts by the the author/image creator

Rationale: Sort by author would be useful feature when browsing a set of images (e.g. your favorites) to discover instances where you repeatedly like a person's work. For sorting purposes it would place on top those authors that have the most entries related to your current search.

I believe this feature request will be useful for somebody but the right way to discover works of the artist is link to his/her profile page and sort by date or popularity.

Your request is actually collecting the same artist works, and sorting by artist name is the easiest way to implement this feature absolutely. But sorting the name is not make sense.

If this issue has >10 👍, I'll put this to next release or keep the issue open until come up with a better solution to collect the same artist works together.

Yup, and I do agree here. This feature addresses the case where you may consistently like an artist's work and keep adding it to your favorites, but you haven't noticed this pattern yet. Grouping the authors together in your personal favorites page would highlight this by making it obvious you have liked the same author several times. Once you notice this you can go to his profile page and check the rest of his work.
