We had long discussions with the PHP team. I'd like to get an PECL account. I wanted to be set as maintainer. But after months without success I gave up.
I guess is better to create new firebird package with you and me as maintainers (or who want to join)

But yes, that's a good idea. I tried to open a new PECL months (or years) ago. I didn't succeed. Maybe it's better if can try to create an account.
And yes, we should name it Firebird, not interbase anymore.
@mariuz Did you already opened a PECL module for Firebird? Or should I try it on my own again?
