Still unable to reproduce. Only other thing I can think of is to ensure that something like antivirus isn't deleting any files from the application during installation.

@bmwalters A common solution to this is to install libsdl2-dev instead. Is there a solution to not have to install the dev version on systems that encounter this issue?
Keeping open for visibility as dev version is a workaround.
Code side looks good, will need to pull down the branch and evaluate the layout next.
