Adaptive design
The app currently doesn't seem to be able to resize its window, making it impossible to use on mobile devices. If it did work on mobile, though, a phone could be used as a companion device when writing LaTeX on a desktop computer, which I think would be neat.
With the upcoming Adw.MultiLayoutView and Adw.BottomSheet widgets, I think creating a dedicated mobile layout shouldn't be that hard. Would you be interested in mockups for it?
Always happy to receive design improvements for my apps :)
Finally got around to create initial mockups. In the narrow mode, the sidebar is replaced with a bottom bar that always shows the top result, and expands into a bottom sheet containing all results when clicked.
I think the design works best if each symbol is accompanied by a distinct copy button, both for the sake of visual balance, and to allow for the entire bottom bar to act as an "open full list" button rather than a "copy symbol" button in the narrow mode. Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts about this :)
Thanks, looks great. Some thoughts I had so far:
- I assume the changed font/boldness is just accidental?
- I think in an ideal situation the first symbol that is shown would be the correct one (I recognize that it not always does, though the new model should be much better), so having the full bottom bar open the list may be suboptimal

WDYM? It’s the latest build of Adwaita Sans. I’ve just approximated the heading sizes and weights, though; stick with whatever the built-in style classes give you.

Sure, in that case you can keep the current behavior. I’d still add the copy button as a visible cue, though.
