Audio does not switch back to main source after disconnecting/turning off bluetooth headphones after post shutdown
Summary
So I have speakers and bluetooth headphones, so I switch between the two when I'm working or playing a game. Usually after im done playing a game and decide to shut down my pc, I turn off my headset so that it reverts back to my speakers or my main source of audio. I mainly use chrome for whatever audio needs i have, so i constantly switch chrome specifically when going between headphones and speakers. So after shutting down and then starting my PC back up, if I were to check eartrumpet, the volume slider for chrome doesnt show up, however if i were to turn on/reconnect my headset it appears but on the headset audio. its a mild annoyance but it wasnt like this when i first installed this app a year ago
Steps to reproduce
- connect bluetooth headset
- on the app, switch chrome to play off of bluetooth headset
- play audio from chrome
- turn off or disconnect headset
- turn off then turn on pc

Same issue here, i lost a device and in same time im lost control of google chrome audio...now my chrome is silent. Reboot or reinstall doesnt fix it.
Bluetooth audio is undergoing some changes in Windows 11. There are also the concepts of disconnecting a device (e.g. due to power down) and unpairing (completely disassociating from a device), which affect your audio configuration differently. (I too have issues with Bluetooth.)
If you ever find yourself in a weird state where apps are associated with devices that no longer exist (a Windows issue) open the Settings app, then go to System > Sound > Volume Mixer. At the bottom, click the Reset button.
