Additional context
Chrome Stable here:
If someone wonders which laptop I have: XMG Ultra 17 CPU: Intel i9-9900K GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080 RAM: 64GB
the same situation (manjaro - pacman) but snap works fine
I wonder whats the difference between aur and snap package.
Same issue here after updating from Ubuntu 19.10 to 20.04 LTS. Interestingly, the Figma website on Chrome runs smoothly (with there are no custom fonts). Perhaps an update of the Electron version could help?
Btw, Ubuntu 20.04 will be release in less than 10 days, soon many derived distributions like Pop!_OS and Mint will have the same issue. It would be better to try to fix this.
As a workaround I started using figma-linux-font-helper
and Figma directly in Chrome.

Can you provide more info you achieved this?

Sure, I simply followed these instructions: https://github.com/tryvin/figma-linux-font-helper#how-to-use-it
It works like a charm.
I solved this problem by adding these options to the /usr/share/applications/figma-linux.desktop / Exec
Exec="/opt/figma-linux/figma-linux" %U --no-sandbox --enable-oop-rasterization --ignore-gpu-blacklist -enable-experimental-canvas-features --enable-accelerated-2d-canvas --force-gpu-rasterization --enable-fast-unload --enable-accelerated-vpx-decode=3 --enable-tcp-fastopen --javascript-harmony --enable-checker-imaging --v8-cache-options=code --v8-cache-strategies-for-cache-storage=aggressive --enable-zero-copy --ui-enable-zero-copy --enable-native-gpu-memory-buffers --enable-webgl-image-chromium --enable-accelerated-video --enable-gpu-rasterization
