Figma-linux not working when installed from ubuntu ppa on Pop!_OS 21.04.
The error that I am getting while trying to launch it from the terminal is as follows:
figma-linux: error while loading shared libraries: libffmpeg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Works fine when installed from the releases page.

+1, the PPA is broken. @duttaab-dev, Two workarounds:
- Overwrite it with the deb provided on the releases page which evidently was built w the right LD path, or
- Run it with LD_LIBRARY_PATH set with their location for the required lib,
$ env LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/figma-linux/installers/linux-unpacked/ figma-linux
Thanks for the quick update & your relentless support for the opensource community. It means a lot sir.
Figma-Linux Flatpak worked for me on Pop!_OS 21.10
flatpak install flathub io.github.Figma_Linux.figma_linux -y
Yeah, i guess the ppa method is obsolete now given there is now a flatpak version which runs much better. Still not sure if I should close this issue as the problem with the ppa install still exists.
Yes, it would be useful if they updated the README page to just point to the flatpak instead of the PPA.
Plus I've generally found that flatpak is much more reliable than snap, so I'd suggest they just replace most of the Ubuntu and Fedora instructions with flatpak.
