LAN database support
Currently a firebase cloud database is needed.
Use case:
Support grilling hut "Grillhütte" parties where no internet connection is available.
The question is, if an other, self-hostable Firebase alternative can be used.
This is way ahead of our current scope. We will leave this here, but don't expect this to be considered in less than 6-8 months.
Maybe https://www.webcomponents.org/element/PolymerElements/app-pouchdb & https://pouchdb.com/ could work ...
Sure. That looks awesome. There are also things like RethinkDB.
I encourage you to try it out and surprise us with a pull-request if you implemented it 💪
Do you have a clue if https://www.npmjs.com/package/firebase-server supports writing?
We have never tried that library, I didn't even know it existed tbh. :D Seems to be half-official though: https://firebase.googleblog.com/2015/04/end-to-end-testing-with-firebase-server_16.html. Why don't you just go ahead and try connecting Festify to one of these DBs? :)
