Amnesia Rebirth: Not launching when using gamemode

Amnesia Rebirth (native version) runs well* without gamemode. When setting the startup option in Steam to "gamemoderun %command%", I see a black screen for a second, then it exits to the desktop.

I think the error is related to the message "malloc_consolidate(): unaligned fastbin chunk detected" in the log (see attachment) because that's what I get when trying to start the game without Steam from console using gamemode. Without gamemode, I don't see this message and the game starts.

What works is: Activating gamemode from another terminal using "gamemoderun vim" and then leave vim running while playing the game. Then it runs while gamemode is active, it just hasn't been launched by gamemoderun itself.

Using gamemode 1.6.1

* it runs as well as it gets. The native version is not very stable and crashes every ~30 minutes or so...
