SwitchySharp runs only for a split second
What do you want to do? Run SwitchySharp against Tor
How did you try? I set up the configuration as attached.
What was the result? When I enable SwitchySharp, the globe icon turns green
momentarily then turns gray. When I check with
https://check.torproject.org/?lang=en_US m and it says I am NOT running Tor, It
looks to me as if SS is crashing.
Other things: I have Tor running ok with Firefox, so I know Tor is ok.
I am *not* running GNOME or KDE. Is switchysharp dependent on the Desktop
environment, the same way ProxySwitchy is?

Addendum: After doing a disable/enable cycle of SS, the icon is green and SS is
working (test on check.torproject.org is ok).
But if I left-click on the SS icon it turns gray and will not turn on again
unless I do a disable/enable cycle in chrome://extensions .
Why does left-click on the icon disable SS? It does not seem like a sensible
behavior.

Profile cycling is a feature intended for fastest proxy switching. You don't
have to enable it if you prefer the context menu instead.
I think you can untick the checkbox in the options to get the context menu back.

Are you referring to the "Enable Switch Rules" checkbox? If I uncheck it, the
globe icon still stays grayed out. I'm not sure we are understanding each
other...

Please uncheck the Quick Switch checkbox in the "General" tab and try again. I
understand that you want a dropdown menu or something like that instead of
switching on left-click.
