Actual behavior
The small search-window is not opens, the file which name begins with z is not selected.
It is a so common feature that any issue would have been reported already.
- Make sure that the current input method/language is set to English.
- Does this work with any other letters (e.g.
AltA
)?
Please try to run Far.exe -m -p
that will load Far Manager without plugins and macros .
Hi, I have started Far without plugins and macros The current input method/language is set to English.
All another letters working fine (ALT+A, ALT+P, etc) only ALT+Z don't select the file starting with z-character.
If you try to assign any keyboard macro (e.g. an empty one) to Alt+Z
interactively (using Ctrl+.
, see Help), what key is displayed at the final (the actual assignment) step?
@HamRusTal, while it is always good to double check, but the author said that they "started Far without plugins and macros" and looks like only AltZ
does not work, which got me thinking there could be an external app/tool intercepting this key combination.
looks like only
AltZ
does not work
My question is serving a twofold purpose: first, to see if the shortcut arrives at all, and if it does, whether it becomes e.g. Alt+Y
which might be the case with e.g. German keyboard. (And if the shortcut doesn't arrive, I agree, it's most likely an external app to blame.)
I'd like to add that I've had similar problems with ALT+{number}, and it discovered, for example, that Adobe Photoshop was blocking my input to FAR.
