So sorry for the terribly long reply time, but yes it still happens.
By now i've figured out the issue, Minemen does not send the empty chunks around the edge of the world, and the threaded renderer does not render chunks on the very edge of the world to avoid double re-rendering (example: the "cliff" of water at the render distance limit on oceans on normal worlds) FalseTweaks 4.0 will fix this, just play without threaded chunk updates for the time being.
